INFORMATION FOR RIDERS - entering online or by hard copy

ENTRY FEES as per entry forms (entry fees include National Trust surcharge of £2.

ONLINE Entries for all Classes can be made through the Endurance GB ride entry system,

 endurancegb.co.uk/main/Rides/EGBRideDetails/Auto_ID/24/Ride_Year/2019    following these steps:

1. Enter chosen class online

2. Fill in Supplemental Information online form which will appear on your screen (you may need to download required forms from this web page, save on your PC, then upload completed forms as per instructions).

3. Upload forms to send to ride secretary.

4. Pay for your entry

HARD COPY  You can also enter by paper copies using the downloadable forms at the bottom this page.  Please send these entries to  the Entries Secretary Mrs. E. Hinings:  4, Greenhill, Norton Rd. Sutton Veny. Wilts. BA12 7BR. We suggest that you take photocopies of the entry forms you submit for your own information.


To enter Class 7 Pleasure Ride online please register on the EGB website as a supporter,

https://endurancegb.co.uk/main/Joining/Supporter    and then follow the instructions as above.

Please note that EGB 'Supporters' and 'Try Before You Buy' pay non-member rates

*Please note to ride at member rates, you must join as a full paid EGB Associate or Full Member.

Competitors wishing to withdraw may do so without penalty by telephoning the Entries Secretary and confirming in writing up to the closing date.  100% of entry fees will be refunded for withdrawals after the closing date, on production of a vet’s or doctor’s certificate and a stamped addressed envelope, if received by the Ride Secretary within one week of the ride taking place.  Late entries, if accepted, will be liable to pay a £10 late entry fee.

The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry.


Stabling – All horses must be stabled/corralled within 10 miles of the venue once they have been presented for vetting, and until the end of their competition.  (This does not apply to class 7)  This should be booked directly with stable owners from the official list (on the website under Accommodation & Stabling) all of which are within the required distance. 


Vaccination against Equine Influenza – Proof of vaccination must be sent with entry, whether stabling or not.


Emergency First Aid Kits – It is recommended that riders carry an emergency first aid kit comprising:  triangular bandage, whistle, glucose tablets, space blanket, wound dressing and bandage and vetwrap type bandage.


Acceptance of Rules – Making an entry constitutes implicit acceptance of both EGB rules and the additional Golden Horseshoe Special Rules included in the ride schedule (a copy of the Golden Horseshoe Special Rules can be downloaded here.  The Board of Directors of EGB shall be the sole interpreter of the rules.


Disclaimer of Liability – Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the Organisers nor EGB nor the Exmoor National Park Authority, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, crew persons, spectators, land or any person or property whatsoever whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever.

Rider sponsorship - Once again this year, we are asking for your financial help for the ride, by asking you to approach your local tack shop, feed supplier, farrier or other company to make a small donation to the Ride and they will receive, in return, an acknowledgement in the Golden Horseshoe Ride Programme.  For a simple acknowledgement of their sponsorship for a particular rider the cost is £15 or, alternatively, they may wish to take out a Half Page (£20) or Full Page (£30) advertisement (black & white) or Full Page colour advertisement (£50).  

If you would like a link to your own website, we shall be happy to include this on our Links page – the cost for this is £10 per link.

There is no limit to the number of sponsors any one rider/horse may have!
